General Questions

What is Bondaii?
Bondaii is a mobile phone application that allows you, the user, to create and manage your contacts. You can read more about it on our "Why Bondaii?" page.
How much does Bondaii cost?
Nothing. Bondaii is provided to you free of charge. However, it is important to note that using Bondaii may result in data charges from your cell phone service provider - check with them about all data charges.
How do I get Bondaii?
To get Bondaii on your mobile phone, simply visit https://secure.bondaii.com/mobile/ on your phone’s mobile browser. Login with existing account or register new account and after that you will be redirected to download page.
What equipment do I need for Bondaii?
To get the most out of Bondaii, you need a supported mobile phone with a data plan that allows you to connect to the Internet. Call your service provider to make sure your phone fits these requirements.
What if I change my mobile phone?
If, at any time, you change your phone, you'll need to download Bondaii onto your new phone. But that's it – we have your contacts saved from the previous phone, and can load them on your new phone.
Is my mobile network supported?
Most networks around the world are supported, as long as they allow you to download applications onto your phone. If you're unsure if your provider is among them, call and ask.
Does Bondaii work with 3G?
Yep. We always try and stay on top of the latest in cell phone technology. However, with that said, some providers restrict the downloading of third party applications through their 3G network. Again, you'll want to check on that.

What is a WAP push?
It’s a kind of SMS message that contains a web link, which can be used by your mobile phone to open a web page. Some phones call them slightly different things, such as service messages or push messages.
Where has my mobile phone stored the WAP push?
That depends on what kind of mobile phone you have - most brands will store them in your normal SMS message box, with a little world icon next to them. But, if they're not there, then try one of the following:

  • * Motorola phones may store them in a service message box in the messages menu
  • * Some Nokia phones will store them as service messages
  • * Samsung phones will store them under the ‘push messages’ section of the messages menu
How do I click the link?
To click the link, open the message containing the download link from Bondaii. Then, depending on your phone, you may need to scroll down to highlight the link and choose ‘Select’, ‘Go to’ or ‘Open.'

My phone asks me to trust the application when I’m downloading. Why should I?
During the download process, you may be told that our application is coming from an unknown source or that it is untrusted. But you can trust us! We promise.
I clicked the link in the SMS... but nothing happened. What should I do?

If you have received a message containing the download link and followed it, but nothing happened,  it’s likely that your mobile phone is not configured correctly to connect to the Internet. See the Connection problems FAQs above for help on this one.

How long will it take to download and install Bondaii?

That depends on the type of cell phone contract you have. If you have a 3G connection, it should only take a few seconds. For the mere mortals among us, it can take 30 seconds or more. If the download process takes too long, or seems to pause for a long time, try starting the download again.

Do I need to keep the SMS you sent me?

Once you have successfully downloaded Bondaii to your mobile phone, you can delete the message we sent you. If you need to download Bondaii again in the future, we can send you another message containing the link.

What happens if I run out of credit when downloading Bondaii?

Bondaii is free to join and use, but your phone network may charge you for using the internet on your phone. So, if you run out of credit part way through the download process, it will stop Bondaii from installing. That's no problem. Just add enough credits to your mobile phone and try again.

Can I install Bondaii without receiving the WAP push?

Sure, start by opening the browser on your mobile phone and enter http://m.bondaii.com/ as the location.

Connection Problems

Why does my mobile phone need to connect to the internet?
Bondaii uses the internet to send and receive data from your phone, just like your home computer does.
How do I connect my mobile phone to the internet?
Most modern mobile phones are already configured to connect to the internet. But if yours isn't, then it’s easy enough to do - as easy as installing a few APN or Internet settings, which we can help with.
What are internet / APN settings?
They're nothing to be scared of... just some settings on your mobile phone that tell it how to connect to the Internet on your network.
How can I check whether my internet settings are correct?

The correct internet settings will usually include your operator’s name and then GPRS, WAP or Internet. Any settings including the letters MMS will not work. Locating your settings varies from phone to phone

Most Sony Ericsson models:

Exit Bondaii, go to the Main menu of your phone, go to Settings, go to the Connectivity tab, scroll down to select ‘Internet settings’, then select ‘Internet profiles’ and check that the correct settings are selected in the list. If not, select the right settings as described above.

Most Motorola models:

Exit Bondaii, go to the Main menu, go to Web Access, scroll down to select ‘Web Sessions’ and check that the correct settings are selected in the list - they should have a ‘tick’ to the left of the name, meaning that they are set as default.

Most Nokia models:

Try one of the following:

Exit Bondaii, go to the Main menu, go to Web (the globe icon), scroll down to select ‘Settings’, select ‘Configuration settings’, check that the right setting is displayed under ‘Configuration’. If not, select this item and choose the right settings as described above.

or

Exit Bondaii, go to the Main menu, go to Services (the globe icon), press ‘Options’, scroll to select ‘Settings’, check that the right setting is displayed under ‘Access point’. If not, select this item and choose the right settings as described above.

How can I set up my Java connection settings?

If you know that your internet settings are already correct, but cannot get Bondaii to connect, check your Java connection settings. If the settings are correct, they will usually be called something to include your operator’s name and then GPRS, WAP or Internet. So, for O2 it would look like this: O2 WAP

Most Sony Ericsson models:

Exit Bondaii, go to the Main menu, select Settings, go to the Connectivity tab, scroll down to Settings for Java and select these. Scroll through the list of profiles and select the appropriate one (see above). Restart Bondaii and see if it works.

Motorola models:

Go to the motorola website to request new settings.

Most Nokia models:

Exit Bondaii, go to the Main menu, go to Settings, scroll to select ‘Configuration’, check that the right settings is displayed under ‘Default configuration settings’ and ‘Preferred access point’. If not, select each of these items and change accordingly. Restart Bondaii and see if it works.

Is my mobile contract activated for WAP/GPRS
Some operators require you to subscribe to data services before you can use them. So if you find that you have the right internet settings on your phone, but still cannot download Bondaii or access any other mobile internet page (e.g. bbc.co.uk/mobile) then you should get in touch with your operator so they can enable your account to use internet services.
I have tried everything and Bondaii is still not connecting
Bummer. Email our support team at bondaii support address, and we'll do our best to help you as soon as possible.
